Radio Propagation from the Palau Islands       The visitor who enjoys amateur radio may think that radio propagation from the Palau Island region could be a problem because of terrain. There are no obstacles to radio waves in the direction of a west-north-east, as these directions face the sea, and West Plaza by the Sea hotel does not have an obstacle toward Europe, Japan, and North America. There is a slightly elevated hill that can be seen in the direction of Australia, and toward the southern part of South America, the the southern part of Africa. This small hill does not have have any signficant influence on HF radio propagation. Details of an setup of radio equipments (1) A connector(connector of many pins which like a large-sized microphone connector) of a rotater cable is inserted in the rotater controller. A driver is not required and does not need to check the figure of connection of a rotater cable. It is the same work as inserting a microphone connector in a rig.  The rotater cable serves also as the cable of antenna switch.  The antenna switch is extended for the rotater controller.  Only by connecting a rotater cable connector, the rotater and the antenna switch can function simultaneously. (2) The cable between rig-linear amplifier is connected. There are one coaxial cable and one control cable.  A control cable inserted one many pins connector in a rig side, and inserted two RCA connecter for stand-by and ALC in a linear amplifier. (3) The coaxial connectors are connected to rigs. Since there are two rigs, please set up by your liking. (4) DC power cable of rigs are connected to DC power supplys. (5) Finally, microphones are inserted in each rig, then AC cables of each rig and a linear amplifier are inserted in AC wall socket.  Furthermore, the notebook PC, message keyer,  paddle, etc which you brought are set up and there are completion.       The setup of radio equipments are simplified as much as possible. If you are enjoying amateur radio usually, this setup will be completed immediately.       This easy setup should make it complete and please enjoy amateur radio fully !
